Farm to Farbic

Farm to Fabric is a natural dye garden in Detroit, MI, created by Maggie Wiebe and Jessie Rice. Our mission is to support working artists in making their art practices more sustainable, and to educate the public about plant derived color and sustainable fiber arts. Discovering plant-based materials drastically changed both Maggie and Jessie’s art practices, and we want to empower artists to take control of how and where they source their materials. This is especially important in today's world, where over consumption is encouraged and we have lost touch with how our belongings are made. Through workshops, garden work days, and community dye baths, Farm to Fabric provides the space for artists and community members to create art from start to finish.
